Numerous mites travel on top of necrophorus vespilloides and help it raising its descendants by killing the larvae of flies in the carrion (also the beetle itself is said to eat the fly larvae). The beetle chirped loud and clear each time I released the shutter, the mites were hiding then under the beetle, but came back on top of the beetle soon.
